EVENTS
HOMECOMING
Homecoming is one of the most exciting times at Iowa State and for Phi Gamma Delta. Participating in Greek life at Iowa State means taking an active and exciting role in Homecoming. Whether it be taking a leadership role on Homecoming Central and coordinating Homecoming or participating in all of the events such as Yell like Hell, Homecoming Olympics, and of course the Cyclone Football game, Phi Gamma Delta offers something for everyone.
GREEK WEEK
Greek Week is a week-long celebration of our Greek community. Greeks participate in various tournaments, such as volleyball and soccer, as well as Greek Olympics which includes such events as a food eating contest, tug of war, and a canoe race. The week also includes several all-greek cook-outs on central campus as well as an end of the year awards ceremony at the end of the week.
DANCE MARATHON
Dance Marathon, or DM, is the largest Philanthropic organization on campus, giving around $150,000 every year to children’s miracle network. Dance Marathon is an exciting event at Iowa State, partly because it is so big. Around 500 participants dance for 15 hours, never getting off of their feet. VARIETIES
Varieties is a competition held annually between pairings of Greek chapters in which participants write and perform a musical skit. The music department lends each team an artistic director to aid in the composition process and the competition itself is held at Stephen’s Auditorium in three different rounds until an eventual winner is selected.
